Part Lists for the NG Hardware 0.22-mini-r2

Introduction

Revision 2 of the UAVP-NG Mini-NG PCB (HW-0.22-mini-r2) has a non-recoverable bug! Its LIS3L sensor is not connected properly.

{i} To fix the above problem, we created revision 3 of the PCB called /0.22-mini-r3!

Details on the problem

We replaced the LIS3L on the HW-0.22-mini-r2 PCB with a newer version which uses a different footprint. We had to do this, as the old LIS3L will be no longer produced from december 2011 on.

While testing the newly assembled boards we found out that the pin 15 (Reserved) was attached instead of pin 3 of the LIS3L (SDO). This resulted in a non-functional LIS3L. As there is no space to place a cable nor to catch the pin otherwise, we had to redo the PCB to fix this. You can find HW-0.22-mini-r3 in the NG Shop.

Those of you, who chose to keep their HW-0.22-mini-r2 PCBs:

You can still use it for a copter (without acceleromenter). You just have to issue the command “set HW.use.acc no”, and can fly without an acceleromenter. The difference is that your NG will not be able to compensate for gyro drift. Without this your NG will slowly drift in what it thinks is horizontal. As we use high quality MEMS gyros, this drift is quite low.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you! Everyone who got a HW-0.22-mini-r2 got a free HW-0.22-mini-r3 replacement board.
