Info about NGcon and NGusb?

Postby quadrocopter on Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:00 pm

Hi
Couldn't find any suitable thread so I post my question here.

What's NGcon and NGusb?
Is it just a USB to serial/JTAG interface for programming the NG, or does it have some other fancy extras?

They appeared in the webshop but didn't find much info about them here in the forum!

Thanks
Frank

Hi Frank!

Yes, that's because nobody has one till now. We ordered new panels containing NGcon and NGusb's but they did not yet arrive.

The NGcon is a SerCon replacement which will allow you to connect your NG's UARTs using a serial port. What's special is that it supports 3.3V and 5V devices and so will allow you to connect to LPC (5V), RC- (5V) and SB-Controller (3.3V). It will also allow you to serial program the LPC.

The NGusb is a USB to Serial converter which will allow you to connect to your NG's UARTs using a USB port of your PC. It will also allow you to serial program the LPC.

Best regards
